Based in Washington DC (preferred), Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco or Palo Alto, the Attorney Training Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing the Firm’s compliance with jurisdiction-specific CLE accreditation rules, Firm training budgets, and supporting internal and client-facing training programs.

This role reports to the Associate Director of Attorney Training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the accreditation of all internal and external substantive legal education programs, including new associate, departmental, practice group, and client programs.
  • Possessing and maintaining a strong knowledge base of all relevant state MCLE requirements and ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Preparing and filing requisite reports to New York and California to maintain the Firm’s accredited provider status and overseeing filings for other states on a program-by-program basis.
  • Overseeing compliance with attendance tracking and reporting requirements for CLE programs and developing new procedures, as needed, to promote efficiency and accuracy.
  • Managing use of CE Manager and other learning management systems (LMS) to track credits, issue CLE certificates, store training recordings, and build learning paths, while developing strategies to optimize platform functionality.
  • Evaluating, overseeing, and managing onboarding of new CLE and training platforms and technologies as needed.
  • Advising attorneys and staff regarding CE Manager, outside MCLE vendors, MCLE requirements, the MCLE process, compliance reports, and other related matters.
  • Evaluating programs on a regular basis and reporting on efficacy based on program metrics and qualitative feedback.
  • Effectively managing the MCLE training budget and completing budget forecasts annually.
  • Developing and maintaining a firmwide training calendar and scheduling training programs and series.
  • Coordinating technical logistics of internal Firm trainings, including coordinating with video support to generate Zoom links, ensuring all appropriate settings are in place, running tech checks, and attending and managing programs.
  • Working with attorneys to manage the logistics of their training programs, including working with the design team to generate invite graphics, sending calendar invitations, sending reminder and CLE credit links, and collecting accreditation materials.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Professional Development Officer, Associate Director of Attorney Training, Global Professional Development Director, CLE Team, and other department and Firm members to implement long-term and/or special global projects.

Experience

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • 5+ years’ experience at specialist or coordinator level in an adult education role in a global law firm, large company, legal training provider, or professional services company.
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience.
  • Strong skills in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • CE Manager and Aderant viLMS CLE experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $100-$115k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
