Attorney Development Manager
Jackson Walker, the largest law firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an Attorney Development Manager in our Austin or Dallas office. This role manages and oversees the development and production of a wide range of professional development programs and initiatives including implementing Jackson Walker’s professional skills curriculum. The Attorney Development Manager will work collaboratively with the Attorney Development (AD) team to create and execute professional development activities in an agile environment aimed at meeting the goals of Firm Management in attorney training, feedback, retention, and promotion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work with Director of AD and the AD team to research, develop, budget, and deliver annual AD core curriculum programs for all attorneys with a primary focus on Associates within the assigned practice groups or projects.
- Manage and coordinate all training and development programs within the Litigation Training Curriculum.
- Define learning objectives for attorneys at all stages of practice, and partner with external vendors and internal subject matter experts to develop relevant content and curricula to meet these needs.
- Develop understanding of available internal and external training resources and, in coordination with the Attorney Development team, use understanding to build consistent cross-firm attorney programming and encourage cross-firm training and development opportunities.
- Establish and maintain an internal network with attorneys and listen for opportunities to coach, offer resources, or provide training.
- Establish and maintain a network in the legal professional development community and remain aware of trends in the legal market.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

- Strong interest and experience in attorney professional development or other professional services.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a law firm or professional services office
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
- Some travel is expected for this position – travel to other JW offices occasionally required.
