Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Manager, Legal Recruiting to join our Talent team. The Manager will oversee law student and entry-level recruiting efforts, including Summer Associate programs, across our California, Denver, and Salt Lake City offices. Additionally, they will manage entry-level Intellectual Property recruiting for the firm. The Manager will collaborate closely with Partners, Associates, law school representatives, and candidates, serving as a proactive and professional representative of the Firm. The right candidate will develop and implement strategies to drive the firm’s recruiting initiatives and enhance its presence in the legal talent market. This person will also manage a Legal Recruiting Coordinator within their assigned region, fostering growth and ensuring the successful execution of recruiting objectives.
Responsibilities
Manage the sourcing, recruitment and hiring process for law students for assigned offices and Intellectual Property Department including summer associates, new associates, summer patent engineers and entry-level patent engineers
Plan and oversee all aspects of the summer associate and patent engineer program in assigned offices
Serve as the primary point of contact for their assigned offices’ recruits
Develop and cultivate relationships with law school career services’ departments, identify/organize/execute outreach events to enhance the firm’s brand and presence at strategic law schools
Manage the law student recruiting and summer program budgets for their assigned offices
Work collaboratively with the Recruiting Committees in the assigned offices, Intellectual Property practice group leadership, and other members of the firm’s Legal Recruiting team to identify talent needs and further develop existing recruiting strategies for sourcing candidates
Participate in the design and production of recruitment materials designed to highlight firm’s Intellectual Property practices
Identify areas for process improvements to better achieve recruiting objectives
Keep informed of current recruiting practices and trends by conducting research, attending local and national NALP and other industry meetings
Attend social events and conferences as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of five (5) years of recruiting experience required; prior recruiting experience in legal or professional services preferred
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and electronic presentations (PowerPoint or equivalent)
Experience with database solutions/applicant tracking software (viRecruit preferred) as well as virtual platforms (Flo Recruit preferred)
Event planning experience preferred
Knowledge or experience with Intellectual Property recruiting is preferred
Must be able to work occasional extended hours during busy periods
Travel as necessary
Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this Denver based position is between $99,300 – $161,900. Pursuant to the California Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the salary range for this Los Angeles based position is between $103,700 – $169,300. These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley. We are accepting ongoing applications.
