We have an immediate need for a full-time Professional Development Coordinator to join our Denver office. The Professional Development Coordinator will provide administrative support and collaborate with the Professional Development team to implement and administer all talent management strategic initiatives, programs, and processes, including all aspects of Firm continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation, program qualification, and individual attorney tracking and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain master documents and department spreadsheets such as associate and policy professional rosters, training attendance and licensure status
  • Schedule annual and mid-year associate review process; circulate and gather evaluation documents
  • Coordinate logistics for CLEs, including booking rooms and coordinating IT and catering services
  • Assist with CLE application process
  • Assist with orientation of new hires and new shareholders, including booking conference room and coordinating IT and catering services (as needed), requesting list of new hires from HR, maintaining spreadsheet, compiling photos, and creating PowerPoint
  • Provide programmatic and CLE accreditation support for Brownstein-produced lawyer training programs
  • Provide initial review of course materials and other program documentation submitted for CLE accreditation
  • Apply for individual program accreditation and/or individual attorney CLE credit in jurisdictions in which Brownstein is not an accredited provider, as necessary, to provide maximum CLE credit (including specialty CLE credit as required by various jurisdictions) for in-house and client programs
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of accredited provider renewal applications and other mandatory CLE reports to ensure Brownstein’s accredited provider status in key jurisdictions
  • Draft communications to attorneys on rules, CLE course credit, updates on regulations, upcoming programs, deadlines, compliance status, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the CLE process and other related matters
  • Keep abreast of CLE regulations in the various jurisdictions in which Brownstein lawyers are licensed
  • Maintain and audit CLE program files, including course materials, attendance records, program materials, and other required documents
  •  Respond to attorney and staff questions regarding Micron CE Manager, outside CLE vendors, and other related resources
  • Process attendance forms and issue CLE certificates for internal and client CLE programs
  • Support attendance tracking
  • Coordinate data entry of external CLE certificates into Brownstein’s CLE tracking system (Micron CE Manager)
  • Work with and maintain various business systems relating to CLE, such as learning management systems, CLE tracking systems, regulator databases, etc.
  • Support on-site, off-site, and online CLE programs produced by Brownstein
  • Update CLE-related content on Brownstein’s Intranet
  • Track bar admissions, ensuring compliance with licensure requirements/renewals,  coordinating with state bar associations, maintaining attorney licensure records and ensuring compliance with ethical standards
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, communication and problem-solving skills, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Self-starter who possesses the ability to work independently and to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with attorneys and other personnel at all levels
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and able to make recommendations for improving processes and procedures
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Highly responsive and service oriented
  • CLE experience in a professional environment is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of CLE rules and familiarity with CLE tracking databases (e.g. Micron CE Manager ) or other learning management systems strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills and exposure to database search and data entry, preferably with respect to a learning management system (knowledge of viDesktop is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
 
Compensation and Benefits: This is a non-exempt (hourly) role, with compensation in the range of $25.00 – $32.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications and other relevant factors, plus overtime compensation for hours worked above 40 per week, as well as bonus potential.
