PDC Webinar: Change Leadership: Leading Change Initiatives in a Legal Environment
2pm-3pm EST
The legal industry is a dynamic environment, requiring innovation and change on many fronts simultaneously. But lawyers have the reputation of being change-resistant. How can professional development leaders maximize their role as change agents?
This session starts with a review of growth v. fixed mindsets, then examines different types of change leadership using the Change Style Inventory (CSI), developed by Christopher Musselwhite, Ph.D. The CSI model uses a scientifically reliable psychometric assessment to determine one's change style preference along a continuum ranging from "Conserver" to "Pragmatic" to "Originator". We will discuss practical ways to engage each change style preference, as well as how to be more aware of our own preferences.
Using the CSI model, we will explore how to leverage our understanding of change style preferences to build stronger, more diverse teams, support innovation initiatives, and move projects forward. We will look at practical ways leaders can adapt their leadership approach to be more effective in building commitment for important projects. We will also look at three leadership skills that will help you be more effective in leading change.
The session will be facilitated by Mark Beese, who is a certified CSI administrator.
