The Manager of Attorney Talent oversees various aspects of the attorney experience and life cycle and supports people initiatives and the career development of our attorneys across the Americas. The Manager actively coaches individuals and consults with leadership on strategies for the retention and development of our people. The Manager will report into and work with the Director, Attorney Talent and Strategic HR – Americas and work with the broader Attorney Talent team. The Manager will provide additional support to the HR Practice Leads, Practice Group Leaders (PGLs), and Practice Area Leaders (PALs) and will coordinate with the Global People Business Services teams to ensure consistency in the Americas and globally. This position will not have any direct reports. However, they will provide supervisory support as needed to the HR Coordinator – Attorney Talent and the HR Specialist – Attorney Talent.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Talent Management and People Development

Lead integration and onboarding efforts for first year and lateral attorneys, working closely with Associate Recruiting Department to facilitate a successful transition into the firm. Help coordinate review of current integration and onboarding efforts and suggest and implement enhanced efforts.
Support the feedback and review processes (“HL Dialogue”) for legal personnel, including specialists and attorneys.
Assist with staffing solutions for associates and counsel to ensure appropriate legal and professional skill development.
Manage the attorney offboarding process, including conducting attorney exit interviews and work with the Attorney Talent team to report on results and trends.
Work with People team, the PALs, and the Office Managing Partners on initiatives to maintain and build morale and increase associate engagement and satisfaction.
Manage and support internal and external engagement survey responses and communications.
Support the integration and development of our visiting lawyers, legal interns, non-lawyer professionals and fee earners.
General

Collaborate with the People team and members of other Business Services departments to suggest initiatives designed to enhance the day-to-day work environment of our attorneys.
All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Five (5) + years of progressively responsible experience in the area of attorney personnel or professional development, preferably in a large law firm environment or professional services environment is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficient with knowledge and understanding of various database systems including Workday, NetDocs, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Ability to learn, utilize, and implement specialized attorney development-related technological databases in order to streamline the attorney development process.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with diplomacy, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, administrators, and outside contacts.
Exhibits a high degree of initiative, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and excellent judgment in navigating sensitive issues.
Ability to lead as well as serve as a team member of cross-department initiatives.
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.

HOURS:
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours.

In Washington, DC, the annualized salary range for this position is $106,000 to $155,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exist.
