Carrie J. Fletcher

Carrie J. Fletcher, JD, MSc is a leadership and strategy consultant, executive coach, and former practicing attorney who works globally with law firms, legal departments, and professional services organizations. Her work focuses on development of the leadership and professional competencies lawyers need to deliver client-centered performance, lead through change, and support sustainable culture shift in complex environments.

Carrie is the Global Head of Faculty for London-based O Shaped, where she leads the design and delivery of research-driven learning experiences that bring law firm lawyers and in-house legal teams together to strengthen the human capabilities clients value most. She partners closely with general counsel, law firm partners, and professional and business development leaders to translate client insights into practical, scalable approaches to lawyer development and new ways of working.

Carrie works with the University of Cambridge’s Møller Institute designing and teaching on leadership, strategy, and culture change programs with professional services firms from across the globe.  She is an Affiliate Instructor with Harvard Law School Executive Education (HLSEE), teaching on leadership programs for lawyers and senior business professionals, and partners with London Business School faculty on leadership case development and delivers master’s-level instruction on team effectiveness and collaboration.

Previously, Carrie was Executive Director of HLSEE; before that she spent over 18 years in US-based global law firms in legal practice, professional development, and leadership roles. She also worked at an ed tech startup, leading curriculum design and coaching for law firm clients.

Carrie holds an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School (Sloan Masters program for global executives), a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, and a BA with distinction from the University of Michigan. She undertook her coach training with the Coaches Training Institute, is accredited to administer the TypeCoach Verifier instrument on cognitive and communication patterns, and is certified in Dr. Heidi Gardner’s Smart Collaboration Accelerator.
