Jessie Spressart

Jessie Spressart is the Founder and Managing Director of Optia Consulting LLC. Jessie founded Optia with the mission to help lawyers and law firms thrive in the twenty-first century. With five generations of professionals now at work in firms, Jessie focuses on intergenerational communication, management and leadership skills, and well-being in the workplace as the essential pillars on which successful professionals build their practices and careers.

Jessie is an engaging and dynamic speaker and facilitator.  She provides customized training programs to law firms, law schools, and corporations, speaks at retreats, and consults with firms and practice groups. Jessie has presented to audiences large and small, both in-person and virtually, including the NALP Foundation, the Professional Development Consortium, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, the Chicago Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, the Dubai-based Coaches4Good, and the Ellevate Women’s Network.  She has been a featured podcast guest and has been published in publications such as the PD Quarterly and the NALP Bulletin.

In addition to training, facilitating, and consulting, Jessie is also an ICF accredited executive coach. Through Optia’s Mindset to Mastery coaching program for individuals and small groups, she helps her clients thrive – not just survive – in their practices.

Jessie has over 15 years of experience in the legal industry. Before founding Optia, Jessie worked in consulting and served as the Manager for Professional Development at a top international law firm. There, she helped build the Professional Development department, bringing it from a part-time CLE-focused initiative to a fully professionalized department that encompasses performance and pipeline management, benchmarking, training, development, and coaching.

Jessie has Master’s degrees from Fordham University and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She brings her academic training and love of learning and teaching to all that she does.
